New attack updates

Friday, May 27th, 2011

This morning we added some further tweaks to the game:

  • Loot will now give out honour and prestige for successful attempts.
  • A bug was fixed with attacks saying all buildings are burnt out when they were not
  • You will receive more prestige the higher the rank of the player that you attack is
  • You will receive more prestige for attacking and causing damage to a persons turf who has more prestige than the average of your team, or singularly if he/she has more prestige than you.
  • All messages and log reports now reflect a colour coded, and more graphic representation of what you earnt in the attacks.

Enjoy

Heavies

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

We’ve made a few changes to Heavies:

  • Heightened weight in attack defense.
  • They now have scaling requirements for each rank / level.
  • The higher rank you are the less energy a heavy will take to train also the more you will be able to train simultaneously.
  • Your gyms stats will determine an extra bonus on training time, of per 500 combined stats -1 second from the build time for each type of heavy. Reaching a minimum amount at a certain level which the time to build will not get any smaller than.
  • The build cost per heavy will increase per rank, as you are a bigger target and more difficult to protect and your hourly cost will also increase dependant on your rank.

Today we have made several changes to areas of conflict on Street Crime.

  • Chase time has been increased to 30 minutes
  • Players can be attempted to be killed even when their turf is in transit
  • Prestige is now given for making successful kills
  • Prestige and honour are now correctly given for both Attack and Carbombs (tried and tested).
  • Attack attempts now show your overall damage points (the red badge in each log to the right)
  • Attacks will now attempt to destroy security in the order they can be built
  • Attacks will now allocate any remainding damage to pad security.
  • Damage incurred to your pad security will be shown at the pad security tab within your pad
  • Pad security & heavies now must be destroyed before any damage can be done to buildings
  • Damage reported to buildings when you destroy via carbomb will now not show 100% it will show the amount of damage handed by the attack, at all times
  • We’ve fixed spy turf reports, they will now always reflect the damage currently at the turf, when successful

Thats about it for todays fixes, we are monitoring closely this week our conflict features in the hope that we can improve them further from the data we collate. But today was a nice start and we hope you’ll agree.

Easter Egg Hunt Competition

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Its been a while since our last competition so although we may be a little bit late we have decided to run an Easter Egg Hunt competition. The competition will run from now until 20:00 on Sunday 1st May. During this time you need to find as many eggs as you can.

Eggs are hidden around the game for you to find. As you collect more eggs you can begin to trade them in for a range of different prizes. You can build up your collection of eggs to try and get the best prize or you can trade in a smaller number of eggs for lesser prizes!

The prizes range from Direct Plane Tickets to Planning Orders! If you manage to get one of each egg you can trade them in for a special Easter Egg Collectors Medal for your profile.

Enjoy and get egg hunting!

Crew Limit Reduced

Friday, April 8th, 2011

Today we have reduced the limit on the number of crews from 68 to 50.

By doing this we hope to increase the importance and novelty of owning a crew which in turn will create more conflict points which makes for a more exciting game.

If you own a crew its time to work together and defend your position in the game as there are currently 68 crews in the game therefore no new crews can be created until the limit gets to 49!

Attack re-release announcement

Friday, April 1st, 2011

Kill to be released…again! 7th April at 15:00 (game time)

With a couple of weeks having passed since the previous attempt at releasing the much anticipated Kill system we are now in a position to re-release Kill. We are extremely sorry for the extended delay in releasing Kill however it was immediately obvious that the system was not stable enough therefore unfair on those who have spent many hours on their accounts.

Over the past few weeks we have evaluated what went wrong then set to work on ensuring this did not happen again. Although no major issues were found a range of different inconsistencies were found causing indifferent results. These have all been resolved and after lots and lots of testing (see below for more information) we are confident of a smooth release this time round.

Some players were disappointed by the inability to use some weapons so we are pleased to announce that all weapons will be available to use this time round, let the fun begin!

Street Crime test evening success

After such a disappointing outcome with our first attempt at releasing Kill we were determined not to let this happen again. It was therefore decided that more thorough testing was required from a wider range of subjects under normal gaming conditions.

This naturally created the idea of holding our first in-house testing evening in which a range of users would put the system through its paces in an attempt to find inconsistencies or break it! The evening, fueled with (lots of) Pizza, (too many) Cookies and Coke, was a great success with the system holding up well and all participants having fun, after-all thats the idea, isn’t it?

7 days free membership…

Having promised Kill a few weeks ago and not delivering on our promise we had to hold our hands up and apologise. To further show our apologies for the delayed release in Kill we are offering every* single player 7 days free premium + membership.

To get your 7 days free premium + membership all you have to do is login between Thursday 7th April 18:00 and Friday 8th April 18:00! Its so simple, don’t miss out of this great opportunity to go premium + for 7 days totally free!

New achievements

As well as resolving the issues with Kill we spent some time adding more than 20 new achievements to keep you all occupied! Thanks to everyone who spent time to suggest some new achievement ideas. If your idea was not implemented don’t be put off as we are always looking for new ideas in all areas of the game.

Other adjustments and changes

We have also made some important changes to other aspects of the game these include reducing the amount of time to train your gun, reducing the amount of time required to train a heavy and you now have the ability to hire more than one turf spy at a time. We hope these adjustments will make the game even more enjoyable for everyone.

Security Breach

Monday, March 14th, 2011

This evening we have had to reset everyones password due to a DOS attack which led to a potential security downfall. We detected the issue as soon as it began therefore no real damage was done however to ensure your accounts remain secure everyone’s passwords have now been reset.

Only a handful of accounts were effected however whilst on the subject of security we would like to highlight the need for everyone to have a strong and secure password which is kept secret in order to maintain your accounts integrity.

The root of the issue that caused this issue has been resolved so there should be no further problems. We apologise for the downtime but it was of utmost importance as a immediate fix was required.

To log back into Street Crime you will be required to reset your password >>

After the Rollback

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

After the rollback occured this afternoon we tried once again to launch the illusive feature ‘Kill’ and once again we just weren’t satisfied and 100% sure that it was working to the level we think you should expect from us. So to avoid further dissapointment and allow us to actually grab some sleep and clear our heads on this one, we’ve decide to temporarily pull the ‘Kill’ feature and made another rollback to the same time to protect the integrity and playability of the game. Kill will be back, and it will be tested and we will make it up to you, that much we promise!

We have however left Attacking another persons turf feature in the game and will continue to monitor it whilst also alot of other new additions have been left around the game.

As i’m sure you will also all agree, some of you have worked very hard for months and months to build your accounts up and for them to be ended by a buggy script seems like a very big waste of time. So when it’s ready and when we are happy it will be back in the game.

We will be putting together a staging area in the morning and will open up some keys to people for beta testing to help test more scenarios quickly through the system. As soon as we are satisfied it is working perfectly we will announce and re-launch the feature.

We are very sorry that this launch did not go smoothly at all and we are going to try and do everything in our power to make sure that this does not happen ever again.

We hope you will accept our sincerest apologies and can still look forward to a time shortly when you will be able to end each others lives. Just not quite yet.

Any players that did buy credits between 2pm and the first major downtime of the launch of kill will have been re-endorsed fully with the credits they paid for.
